MBR vs GPT

Thread Starter
I have a UEFI motherboard (P8C WS) with a 4x 3TB RAID 6 array and a 256GB SSD. I just installed a 1TB programs and games drive and I'm curious if I should format GPT instead of MBR even though it's under 2.2TB.

Apparently GPT has benefits over MBR because it has a lower chance of corrupting data, but is it necessary on a 1TB HDD and would it create any issues?

It's not necessary, and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't create issues either way, unless you were planning on using said drive with an older os like xp.

As long as you don't use OSs and partitioning programs that can't recognize GPT, you'll be fine. GPT allows for more partitions, and it's a more modern format.
