Hi Guys

My MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III died an hour back ....
Looking to get a replacement card and not looking to spend too much as I will upgrade the whole system in an year or so.

Have been out of the harware space for a while, so looking for some recommendations.

My current specs are as follows:

1. Processor + MOBO : Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge + Asus P8P67
2. PSU : FSP Aurum CM Gold 750 W Modular
3. Memory : G-Skill Ripjaws-X DDR3-1600 CL9 (2x4GB)
4. Graphics : MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III 2GB
5. HD : Crucial M4 Sata3 64GB
6. Tower : Cooler Master Storm Enforcer
7. CPU Cooler : Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus

Thanks

680's on eBay are pretty cheap now, just picked on up myself. You may want a 4GB version if you want to future proof. It also helps that you can throw these in SLI if you need another boost down the road.

I feel for you. You are in the same situation as I am. My 6950OC packed up a while ago and Gigabyte replaced it with a 7850OC 2GB. It is of equivalent power to the 6950 I had. Perhaps slightly better in fact as it had double the memory and performed better at higher quality settings.

I too am planning a complete refresh so it'll do me until then. If you are looking for similar performance then I would get a 7850OC.

Alternatively a 7870 is a decent jump again in performance but just a bit over your limit.

This powercolor 7850 2Gb is a good deal - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131473
