Thread Starter
I am have Major issues with the motherboard!!

Ive gotten to a point where windows will not load at all. Tryed xp pro, x64 and 2003 server, all are having the same issues. During install it either says that some .SIF file has a syntax error or that it cant write some DLL to the HDD.

Ive tryed multipule HDD's in both stand alone and RAID Ive even used different CD-ROMS.
Ive disable everything in BIOS, Changed my clock settings for my memory as well as the voltages. Ive updated the BIOS to the most recent, ( ASUS has released six new BIOS versions in the last 4 months ) as well as the newest SATA&Raid drivers.

Something is realy screwed up. :swearing:

I would like to get this working just 'cus it makes me so angry but if in the end I cant get it working I would also like your input on an alternative mobo. (I need one thats SLI and has 6 disk Sata Raid)

Did you try installation with the minimum of components (i.e. one stick of ram)?

Edit: the 680i mobos are getting better.

75% of the time when files aren't xfered over during Windows installation the problem is memory.

Do a memtest.

Yea, I would yank 2 sticks of memory and try that. If that doesn't work, I would look at your PSU. The 750w TT Toughpower probably isn't enough for SLIed 8800GTX's, 6HD's and a high end motherboard like that.

Edit: calculate your PSU wattage here
