Problems with Asus Laptop

Thread Starter
So today my uncle has called me about his Asus K55A laptop that he got a few month ago, he mostly uses it for pictures and sometimes movies when he travels, but it has been really slow for the past few weeks, any tips?

Can you tell me specifically what model it is?

You can do the usual, use task manager to see what might be taking up his resources, do a fresh reinstall of Windows, or even upgrade the HDD for something better (5400rpm is probably what he has, I suggest maybe upgrading to 7200rpm or an SSD).

Try the first option and report back wink.gif

I told him the same thing, but he doesn't want to change the HDD to SSD right now, reason unknown to me.
And I'll probably will end up re-installing his windows.

As of Task Manager I did that as soon as I got the Laptop and already deleted all the useless Asus software space which made it slightly faster, but not as fast according to him as it use to be. Then I had disabled his AntVirus and turned on Windows Defender, so far he says that it works way faster.

The Specific Model : http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-A55A-AH51-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B009OV1910/ref=amtcd_B00B7K11OG_B009OV1910
