Help Regarding Power Supply

Hi i need help regarding my PSU its corsair TX750 all was good when suddenly it stated to crash bios and started giving cpu over voltage error press F1 to continue ...
i know the power supply is faulty as i have tested the system with a TX850 and it dident gave me the error neither crashed bios..
i took the power supply to reparing shop but they dident know what the fault is.......

now when i boot into bios with the TX850 Watt power supply it shows the following voltage

and with the TX750 watt ( which gives the overvoltage error )

now i want to ask u Guru's cant i manually set the voltage on the processor to correct the over voltage error...as we do when we overclock ... will it do the job..and never overclocked so dont know exactly how to do it ....
i dont have the budget to buy a new PSU .....if nothing worked then i will have no choice but to buy a new or used PSU.....
and if i buy a Corsair HX 620 Watt Will it be ok....

My system Specs
Core i7 920 ( with Cooler Master V8 )
Asus P6X58D-E
XMS3 6GB tri Kit
GTX 580
1TB Seagate

well the issue with that is when we overclock we just make it a little higher , in your case we do not know if it is getting the V are not so adding more would be a no no xD
But If I was you try contacting corsair if not get that thing out of your rig lol

A quick thought as well would be the test that the shop are running, if they are just hooking up a PSU testing device to the main board connector they may not see if there is a problem with the CPU 12V connector.

Good luck getting it sorted out

p.s. it is never adviseable to try and force a faulty PSU to work pretty much echoing what ROG said above smile.gif

You don't need 700 Watt for a single card.
620W Seasonic or some good brand will be enough. Your pc will barely reach 550w even on load.

but what happens if he wants a 2nd card? That means he has to update his psu ..... I like to recommend 700W because that will last any rig for years to come unless you go tri are quad tongue.gif

Yes indeed if there are future plans for SLI then sure go for 650-700w. Gtx 770-780 would SLI on a good 650w psu.
But if you plan on getting a single powerfull card in future instead of SLI then it will be a waste so you can just go for a good 550w one. biggrin.gif
