First thing you do is immediately stop using that drive for anything. If it it's a system drive, immediately power off the system, preferably by a hard power off that doesn't allow it to go through the normal shutdown sequence. The more you write to the drive after you delete something, the worse your chances are of recovering it.
You'd then want to plug the drive into another system (but don't boot from it), use recovery software to do a scan, find your file, then recover it to a different drive.
