Repairing MSI micro atx board

Thread Starter
Hello.

The board is MS-7592 (or G41M-P23). Some time ago i've bought it second hand (barely used) and it didn't work - no beep codes, no post, as far as i can remember. Now i've decided i need to repair it (or at least diagnose) for practice for my job that i want to get.

So now i've connected it to PSU (PSU is running) and was looking forward to beepcodes but there weren't any. It's stripped of any components but that can't be the reason why i'm not getting beepcodes? I'm not willing to disassemble my system to add components to it if not necessary.

I could do some voltage testing but i don't know where to start and what to look for.

Thanks in advance.

You'll need at least a CPU/RAM at least to be able to properly diagnose.

I can add ram but the problem is CPU because i'm running custom made cooler which would be hard to reattach but do i really need CPU to verify it? Shouldn't the board give no CPU beep code?

Do you have a speaker plugged into the board?

Even if it did, a no CPU beep code is of no use to use as it would just halt on that, so you wouldn't find out any additional problems. You'd just be able to verify you don't have a CPU, which you already know.

No speaker connected. Okay, i'll put CPU and RAM in it but before doing that i would need to know next steps beforehand.
