I don't really know if this entirely the case any more...thanks to things like Twitter and Facebook people are much more informed (though not always with correct information).
I am sure there will still be a lot of people who will be in a store just roaming around and say, "Wow, they made a new Xbox? Get that sucker in the cart!", but I don't know if I'd call that sort of people the majority any more. All it is going to take is a few bad tweets on a product to inspire a lack of confidence and interest in a product and lets face it...in terms of bad press I think Microsoft has the crown in this round. If some one actually looks into things and tweets a simple statement to their friends and followers that the PS4 is the better buy...chance are they are all going to follow suit. People are lemmings to Twitter now...not to brand loyalty.
There are still the lemmings that will jump off the Xbox cliff just for Halo though...I've still haven't seen what is so great about the game. I mean it isn't bad, but I think I've played a lot of other shooters I'd consider better.
