Let's talk about ~800 MHz vs ~975 MHz that performance difference is largely caused by clock speed and memory speed. If Fermi was recreated on 28-nm with only 768 Fermi CUDA cores, it would destroy everything including GK110. Fermi to this day is still superior than anything AMD or Nvidia have built for GPGPU. That is why we need a 48 ROP Sea Islands GPGPU as it would perform near it.

Yep, there's "no proof of Nvidia ever doing something as anti competitive and bad for the consumer on a similar scale" at all. rolleyes.gif

If this had been true, it'd have merely meant you'd get a driver a few days/weeks after launch which increased performance...That doesn't hurt users anywhere nearly as much as on purposely making the architecture of a game run in a way that specifically benefits nVidia (Regardless of drivers, C2 would perform better on Fermi than Cypress) or disables AA for AMD users.

I did cover batman earlier, there's no excuse for it however it's a single game.

Making the tess overly heavy isn't really comparable at all. That's not really different from over using the global illumination in the most recent dirt games or using tons of directcompute for lara's hair in TR. All of that is just playing the strengths of the different architectures.

And Nvidia was really pushing CUDA and GPGPU when no one else was interested. A lot of the GPGPU stuff we have today is there because of Nvidia's push to make it common. And Nvidia also offered gaming related CUDA features for AMD but AMD refused the offer.

And yet, none of this is just purely hampering AMD for the sake of it on a big scale. That's something Nvidia hasn't done.

And since the article was sensationalist it would appear that AMD wont be doing that either.

The GPU's die would be absurdly large given the size of each Fermi's cores.
