Question about single core performance

Sorry for ambiguous title but I couldn't word my question small enough to fit and make sense tongue.gif

I have a 1090T at 4150ghz, purely thinking of single core performance, would an 8320 beat it at an average/expected overclock, say around 4.6-4.7ghz?
As a couple games I run use 1-3 cores, having the two extra cores isn't really going to help performance, so would the extra clock speed make up for the slower NB etc?

Memory and clock speeds are

I found this config to be the best performance, HT likes 2400 better than 2200 but over 2400 I lose performance, so setting 2200 and letting bus speed do the rest gives me the best result, NB performance scales well with more speed. Haven't bothered trying to hit 3.2ghz though, probably a bit overkill at this point tongue.gif

I would lose a lot of NB speed going with BD, which would impact my memory speed, right?

Lets assume the 8320 has 6 cores, I'm just trying to compare the core vs core performance as the 7th and 8th core is likely not to help in gaming much, as the only game that I play that utilizes multiple cores well, is BF3 and I'm fairly sure that's capped at 6 cores?

I play older games too, which are generally 2-4 cores (Like Everquest2)

Is there a performance gain?

Edit: typo's

Keep your overclocked 1090T. It is superior to an overclocked FX-8320 in most cases, especially for the cases you described above.
You will need to overclock the FX-8320 beyond 5GHz to match the single thread performance of your current CPU.
