Worth Upgrading Motherboard for faster PCI slot?

Thread Starter
I currently have two 680s running on a x16/x4 pci setup. Yes, my motherboard is hacked to support Sli, but runs almost perfectly . My 680s are fast, but I do feel like they could be faster. Do you guys think it would be worth getting another motherboard that actually supports sli and has two x16 pci slots? Would my system run noticeably faster?

Replacing a motherboard is not fun, and I am afraid of creating new issues and lowering my OC by doing so. If you think it is worth updating, then what board would you recommend?

Depends on how long you plan to keep that SB system, and whether you will SLI with more powerful GPUs in the future, because X4 2.0 already causes some FPS drop.

X8/X8 is good enough, so Z77A-GD55, Z77X-D3H, TZ77XE3 and higher end boards will do fine.

Alright thanks for the info. I guess I will just stick with what I have until I upgrade my CPU.
