BF3 FPS Problems

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

When I first got BF3 I only had a GTS450, but it still easily got 60+ FPS on low/medium. Over about a year my FPS gradually dropped to an average of 40ish. I then got myself a GTX 560 ti a year ago, but I still really struggle with FPS. I have everything on low in game and still only get 40-50fps. I have tried different nvidia drivers, and the game is installed on an SSD, but nothing helps.

I understand its an older computer, but my brother has an AMD FX 8150 (4gb ram) with a GTS 450 and always gets over 60FPS on medium/high. Is there something I am missing?

Specs:

Phenom X4 B55
4gb DDR3 1333
Vertex 3 120gb SSD
GTX 560ti (runs on full 1080 in game, all settings low)

If this pc cant handle BF3 over 40FPS I better be upgrading for BF4 lol!

Thanks!

-NJ

Yes BF3 is graphics and CPU heavy. Both need to be decent to run the game smoothly. As well it uses a lot of memory so 8 gb's would be better than 4gb's Basically your cpu is holding back the game.
