is there anyway to drop the price a bit on this build? I am over by about 40.00

Thread Starter

I am not sure if its possible to drop the price of this build at all but im over budget by $40.00 & I am not sure what to change here. I relied on heavy discounts and was ready to order and my brother could not give me back my 1020 in time so now all the sales are dead.

Things are higher priced now so I am not sure where to go. Im ordering in 1 week so im hoping MAYBE some sales will come back but im doubtful

Hyper 212 on sale was 24.00 now its 32.00

Plextor M5P SSD 128GB was $100 now its $130.00

Liteon DVD burner was $15.00 now its back to $18.00

so as you see my budget shot over by $41.00 which is what im over. Is there Any way to drop the price. I need to stay at around 1020 shipped. I was thinking Possibly a different MOBO for the 4670K I am not going to be overclocking at all or possibly very little if i do.

There is $30.00 in rebated but I cant rely on Rebates that wont help me place this order since obviously rebates take forever

Here is the build

4670K (combo)

If you live near a Microcenter you could save a bundle on that processor and mobo combo.

Edit: I think they are actually running their deal online for the 4th gens

Damn, you Yanks really have it good over there. Everything cheap; bundles; great saving deals.. I envy you. biggrin.gif

Anyway what about this motherboard? That saves you 10 bucks right there I guess.

I keep reading about this "Microcenter" on forums. Checked their prices.. amazing.
I'd even go there by donkey if I lived in America - the prices are absolute steels.

Don't do that. The Capstone is much, much higher quality that that Silverstone unit.

One way to save $30 is to drop the SSD to the Samsung 840 non-Pro ($100 @ Newegg). Your write speeds will take a hit, but the read speeds are more important anyhow.

If you're really not going to OC much, there's a combo with the 4670K and MSI's Z87-G43 motherboard @ $340 ($32 less than the ASRock combo)...

Thread Starter

i made a couple changes from things in this thread and changed the SSD to something SEAN recommended. I decided to keep the Modular Capstone 450w as I really hated all the wires from previous PSUs

Sandisk 128gb ultra $100.00

Changed the Combo to the

4670K +  MSI Z87-G43 Z87

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1325554

New total is: $998.89
