Windows 8 LAN Sleep Problem and WiFi problem

So I'm having this very weird internet problem with Windows 8 on my desktop (sig rig) and laptop (Lenovo Y580). So we'll start off with the desktop first.

I've got the most recent Intel drivers installed (18.3) for my motherboard's Ethernet adapter (Intel 82579v). When I put the computer to sleep, after waking it up, the LAN port is "dead." The bottom right corner doesn't show a monitor with a LAN cable, just 5 bars telling me to connect via WiFi. I go to device manager and scroll down to network adapters and see that it has changed to an Intel 82579LM adapter. Weird...It's also got an exclamation mark next to it, indicating a problem. When I click on properties, it gives me an error 10 and says

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

This device does not exist.

Well...dang it. No Ethernet. But I am able to fix it by right clicking on it (in device manager) and selecting scan for hardware changes. This brings it right back to it being listed as the 82579v adapter and Ethernet running back up! But this is a tedious process. And I have to do this everytime I wake it up from sleep. An interesting note is that this doesn't occur if I use WiFi only on my mobo. It wakes from sleep fine and WiFi ready to use.

Now onto the laptop. It's got nearly the same problem.

I boot up my laptop up. WiFi works fine and internet is speedy as ever. Put it to sleep and wake it up, and the problem occurs. There's an exclamation looking mark in the notification area on the WiFi icon. WiFi doesn't work at all. Clicking on the WiFi icon shows that my connection is "limited".No way to fix it. Device manager says it's working fine and such. But nothing will load.

Also sometimes, when I boot her up (not from sleep, from shut down state), the WiFi also doesn't work from the get-go. Very irritating.

Getting really tired of you Windows 8. Can anyone please help?

May have found a solution. Also another cause might be the LAN cable. I'll get a new one and test it.

Update: The utility worked. Now for the laptop.

Update 2: I was able to fix my laptop drivers by installing the ones I found on a Lenovo thread. Guess the Intel provided ones were buggy.
