PSU to power 18A LED Strip Controller

Thread Starter
I'd like to use one of my old PSU's to power an RGB LED RF controller. The controller is rated at 18A max output (6A per channel). Just for example I'm looking at a load around 144w. (10m LED strip - Extreme example I know). If I were to use a CPU or PCI-E connection out of the PSU and combine it at the terminal would it work?

GOD DAMN 144W WORTH OF LED POWER.

Are you trying to light a football stadium? eek.gif

And yes, combining the rails will work. Parallel, of course.

Awesome thanks.

That example was with 5050 300 LED strips but I will likely be using 150 LED strips which will be 72W. It will be lighting behind 6 monitors, under 2 test benches, and possibly a little mood lighting around the room. I'm planning to run my loops and LEDs off an independent PSU. Appreciate the help and yeah it may end up being overkill.
