Of course people are going to find something else to complain about (Kinect), but I do admit they backpedaled a lot faster than I think they would. Prolly happened once the military news gained traction and the utter PR disaster that's been going on.
Except for that whole kinetec NSA spybox thing watching you all the time...watching & recording online and offline. Screw that, and screw MS. They had my business since the original xbox and they permanently lost it with this whole Xbone fiasco. Yea they may back track now, but whos to say they dont change their mind a year or two down the line after they have your money. MS MADE THEIR INTENTIONS CLEAR AND THEY CAN GO PISS OFF!
First you bumped a 3 month old thread.
Second, Microsoft has back tracked on forcing the Kinect to be used.
Third, you can just tape up the Kinect and stop the NSA from spying on you. Although there is no evidence to support any collaboration with any monitoring agents and the NSA could monitor you much better without having to tap into a fixed camera looking at your couch (which by the way would break federal law if your permission was not obtained or a search warrant (requiring prior evidence) issued by a judge for your specific location was not issued and could not be used against you in the court of law).
You're right they might back track on the DRM and that is what has many gamers still "iffy" about the X1. But I'm willing to bet they don't go back on there word as they know it would be an even bigger PR fiasco than the first announcement. Before they back tracked, some PS4 games had more pre-orders than the X1. Microsoft is in the console world to make money. If the DRM requirements lose them more money than it would save them (which it definitely did) then there is no reason for them to do so. I would like to argue that even if it did make more money, it would need to be a certain percentage of profit to warrant the PR disaster. I just don't see that happening.Edited by kennyparker1337 - 10/20/13 at 12:58am
