Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 P C I: Question

Thread Starter
I'm building the dream rig below, in my sys specs, and i'm going to start by getting the case on my next paycheque

However, the primary question is.... I'm on a 2.4ghz celeron because my 3.2 was fried due to a mobo f* up (overheating when cold, diode exploded to report false info and yeah...).

Anyhoo, for the gateway rig (2.4 celeron), I have a pci, fx5500 in it.

To give me the OPTION of turning on my core 2 duo system sooner, because it'll take another 2 full paycheques to get the right video card + extra stick of ram just to even the playing field for myself to the max...

However, to turn on the system, play with it, mess around.... I was thinking of putting in the fx5500 256mb pci card.... in the e6300...

Would anyone care to give me some thoughts on the possible "benchmarks" that i'd be able to get? (Technically the bottleneck will reside in the video card finally). Just curious.

you will get just a little more performance in games with that card coupled with the 6300 comparing with the old 3.2 p4 , however compared to a celeron the defference will be bigger , especially in low resoleotion and details which you have to put considering your card .

nice comparison, Sublime0 and michel84, I figured I wouldn't get TO much of a gain, however, it'll at least be a stable fps, a more "average" then jumping up and down fps. (vsync is on in every game also, to help stabalize it ish...)
