Hello, new to the forum and at wits end with a screwed over build.

Hello everyone,

I am elbow deep in a build that started months ago and is at a stand still. It is at a stand still due to incompatibilities between the water-blocks and the video cards. The cards in question are sapphire 7970s 11197-11-40G thus non reference which will obviously not work with the Alphacool NexXxoS ATXP ATI 7970/50 series V2 - polished - copper blocks. There are very few cards they work with and I am really disappointed. So at this point I need suggestions. Apparently only universal VGA coolers will work with these cards so which ones should I run? Does anyone want these blocks? The worst of it is that I was fed all kinds of lies in regards to the progress of the build which had not even come out of the parts boxes in months. I managed to accomplish 75% (ish) of the build between last night and this morning. It is an 8530 based system with the twin 7970s in boxes till I know what WBs to use. Crosshair formula V board waiting on a ram kit, which will be 32gbs of corsair, every thing is solid states so far and have lot's of rad capacity. Other than that I have a buddy who I know does know how to work on water cooling who is suppose to help me sometime after Monday. Any suggestions pointers and sound advice Will be appreciated.

Thanks and hopefully I will be able to contribute to the community in the future, not just ask for help.
best regards to everyone.

Hello once again well I have two Alphacool NexXxoS ATXP ATI 7970/50 series V2 - polished - copper blocks that I will be looking to sell for a very reasonable combined price they are of no use to me so if anyone has on of the cards on the list for the V2 blocks I can sell them at a reasonable price. I would prefer someone from Ontario but am more than willing to make arrangements seeing as they retail for about 100 a piece I can part with them for 140 plus shipping any interested, 75 plus shipping if sold individually.

Here is the compatibility list

It might be easier to sell the incompatible video cards and buy ones that will work with those blocks instead.

This will be the most cost-effective solution as well, yeah.

I love the cards and will not downgrade to 7950 cards and the few 7970 models compatible for these blocks would have to come from the UK or Australia so I will either sell the blocks or hold on to them to make a second rig down the road. The problem is for this to be economically viable I would have to sell the current cards for about 500 a piece so I will keep the cards, lol. I do however truly appreciate the input.
