BSOD Question...

Thread Starter
hi there, a good few months ago i decided to update my pc a little, new mem, new processor and a motherboard( that wasnt new, i was on a tight budget). i had no major probs with old pc but it was due for a spruce up.( i kept the haf 932 case though)

well heres my prob. i keep getting blue screens. pc will run fine if im just mooching on ebay ect but its when i watch youtube or somthing similar that i have problems(not tried playing a game yet).

for instance, i can be sat watching youtube and all of a sudden it will freeze and sound like a stuck music cd. sometimes it will just stop and carry on with what i was watching but for most of the time it will go to a blue screen saying i need to disable bios and cache shadowing or something. then the pc will either restart by itself or i have to hold down power button and make it restart.

only thing i had to do when i got the motherboard was to get a new bios chip that would support my cpu

You have an E1 Stepping i3 3220.

According to your Motherboard, you would need to upgrade to BIOS 2.30.

I would recommend to start with that. Once the BIOS has been updated, make sure to Load Optimal Defaults. Saven and Exit.

Good luck.
