[Scratch Build] - Green Lantern

One of the current builds I'm working on is a mid tower air cooled Green Lantern themed case. It's been a little while since I've kept up with work logs on here, but I'm going to try and start somewhere! biggrin.gif

The case is all acrylic, with a 3/8" inner frame for strength, and 1/4" outer panels, obviously with a heavy Green Lantern theme. As a first, I decided to experiment with a new material, matte black acrylic. All these years I've been working with standard glossy acrylic, and I must say I'm astounded with the matte. It has an extremely clean look, and does not fingerprint or scratch. Definitely going to be something I'm going to use frequently from now on.

So...some points to the actual design.

- Large 200mm intake fan
- 5x 120mm exhaust fans, made to be able to upgrade to liquid cooling in the future
- Full ATX compatibility
- 5x HDD bay
- 1x 5.25" bay
- Illuminated Vandal switches
- Front designed as the Green Lantern logo
- Top incorporated with smaller versions of all the Lantern logos, all illuminated

So here is the pre-rendering of the design.

And so far this is where I'm at with it.

I'm done for the evening, but I did get a few of the illuminated Lantern medallions cut. Those will be organized in all the small holes on the top.

Lookin good! Make sure you have dust filters that are easily cleanable though, because the last thing you want is a dusty system. I'm subbin to this! thumb.gif

At last she's complete. Extremely happy with the end result. The best part of the case in my opinion is the new use of the matte black acrylic. It just refuses to scratch or fingerprint.

Enjoy!
