The base model is irrelevant when you advertize the loaded model, and people comment on that.
People are talking here whether the new BMW M3 should be V6 supercharged or a V8 redliner, and you are "adding" to the conversation by saying that the 3 series comes out with a 1.6lt 4cyl too and some markets are happy with it, so there is nothing to worry about...sure it is sweet and juicy in your planet, here its different.
I think he is definitely wrong throwing around the $2500 figure and I love Apple products. Thing to remember is this computer is a professional work station. It is not meant for your average person by any means. Not only this, 99% of the guys on OCN have no purpose for a machine like this. There mere fact that it uses firepro cards which are insanely priced (look at newegg) reveals this thing will bypass the $2,500 mark. Not only this, but the HDD's used will substantially buff up the price. Then you add in a top of the line Xeon ( http://ark.intel.com/products/64596/
- not the exact one but very similar) which retails around $2k in it of itself, you get a HELLA expensive work station.
Look at the numbers, Lime. Your arithmetic simply does not add up. There is NO way this thing will cost $2500. It will be at least double that. Then you tack on Apple's design price... and... well I will go ahead and say this thing is above my pay grade. But then again I have on need for any system like this.
edit: my bad the $2500 figure was thrown around by Andrew not Lime.Edited by j3st3r - 6/20/13 at 9:09am
