If that's the case...... the old Intel 4004 must be Super Saiyan 3, it takes 15volts. rolleyes.gif

looked it up 10 micro meter lithography and took 15v to operate and it was such a feat back then in 1971 to produce the first "on chip complete CPU" thanks to the new "silicone gate" technology biggrin.gif

I actually had that happen to my 3930k with the 00 code and my cpu was toast after testing it on another board..

Just checked the ASUS site: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/MAXIMUS-VI-GENE/E8182_Maximus_VI_Gene.pdf

00 code is "not used" => Probably either fried your CPU or mobo... (The latter one is VERY unlikely)
I have an Intel tuning plan: CPU replacement for, like, $40?

Try testing on an other board/with an other CPU.

Incorrecto. I'm at 1.53 trying to get 4.8 stable on water. Temps aren't over 90 yet with IBT. Getting close but close only counts in horseshoes. Still, at 1.52 it failed prime blend in about 3m at 75 degrees or so, and going much higher even with good temps just isn't gonna work for me 24/7. I had set 1.5 at my cut off but once I got 4.7 stable at 1.43 I was eager to get 4.8 (OCD lol I like even numbers!)

What cracks me up is it will pass IBT and hyperpi and aida at 1.43 with x48 but is failing prime blend at 1.52 (soon we will see about 1.53) a full tenth of a volt higher.

I'm tellin ya. Temps aren't the only thing holding this chips back. I'd go so far as to say MOST just plain suck for overclocking.

Fwiw I passed asus 1.25v at 4.6 = an above average chip. Ironic that anything beyond that takes tons and tons of voltage. Either way that tells me their assessment is a bit off, that or my chips curve is "unique" lol

Can you pass small fft Klepp?

What's your criteria for declaring stable?

I might just be going offtopic here but a stable declaration can pretty much be made by playing a 64-player map on a 4770k. That game really drags your cpu into a damp alley somewhere and violated it. Jesus.

BF4 actually brings my cpu higher in temps than Prime does during a 10minish load, at least at peaks (only measure the "top" temps).

Has this thread made us unwary of going past 1.3v on air/aio's? 4.5 at 1.3vcore seems low compared to you guys.

ideally 24hr of prime. sometimes I get impatient and 18hrs I cut it off though. I run hyperpi for a pass, then upgrade to IBT on very high for a pass then run prime on blend. once in awhile ill run IBT on maximum if im walking away from the pc but w/ 32gb of memory it just takes too damn long. When trying to dial in an oc .01v by .01v and setting by setting with it not failing for hours and hours on end.. becoming irritating tongue.gif Im about to just overcompensate across the board and call it a day tongue.gif

yes on small fft.

Might be the GPU's workload in BF4 that makes your case's inside temp to rise--->higher CPU temps.

BF4 multiplayer is incredibly CPU intensive. My old Athlon II X6 1090T @4GHz was CPU bound, and swapping it out with a new i7 4770K (was coincidental timing - not upgrading for the game) nearly doubled my FPS with no other hardware changes.
