Hi,

This is my first time buying a Korean monitor. I'm thinking of the X-Star 27 inch 1440p monitor for $280 off Ebay. However, I've heard a few reports of these monitors going bad after a few months as they are A- quality panels. What is the failure rate on these Korean monitors? Is a $50 SquareTrade warranty worth it if I'm on a tight budget?

Also, which seller do you recommend for these monitors? Green-sum, Dream-seller, Bigclothcraft, or 2560x1440monitor.com?

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

Yeah I dunno where you heard "reports of them going bad after a few months".

Because I have read the entire 190+pg thread on these monitors and that has never been mentioned.

Just get the SquareTrade warranty to put your mind at ease.

I'd probably go with Dream-Seller's pixel perfect.

I have the squaretrade warranty. After using the monitor for awhile now I don't think it is necessary. But 3 years is a long time so it might still come in handy.

As for the seller I can only recommend the one I used. Hulustar. Shipment came very fast and was wrapped very well. Never did any claims with them so I have no clue on that side of them.

I have had my 3 Crossover 27Q's for over a year now, no issues here at all.

This has nothing to do with the quality of the monitors but rather the handling of the shipper.

Hell, I received a badly damaged monitor from an American company...and the monitor only had to travel from Cali to Texas.

They've been extremely reliable for me. I bought my CrossOver 27Q LED last year and I've had no problems with it so far. Beautiful display, sharp image quality and excellent build quality.

I have a Qnix as well and have not seen any issues yet. I have had it for about 3 months now and i am overclocked to 120hz 24/7.
