Single card, you shouldn't complain about drivers at all. They are both very good on both sides.
Not really, AMD's had zillions of little glitches for me compared to GeForce cards.... and there are MANY well-documented issues like this:
Where hitman absolution performs like garbage with in-game SSAO on both AMD and nVidia cards, but if you disable it and then use the driver-level SSAO only available with nVidia (sorry AMD), you end up with better IQ & framerates... on an AMD-sponsored title (LOL!).
There are a LOT of issues like this... add in missing features like Lightboost tech, TXAA, Physx, & SGSSAA + poor multi-card setups on AMD and well, it's not hard to see why GeForce is outselling AMD 2 to 1 and more for awhile now...
Bottom line is AMD's been behind the 8-ball for ages and while I hope their late-release July 31st driver (1.5 years after the 7970 launched, and it's been busted since the 5xxx series pretty much) improves things, I'm not holding my breath. I want them to succeed because it means more competition in the market, and as someone who buys videocards that's a good thing
since it results in better cards launching on both sides + cheaper pricing.
