At its Premiere event in London today, Samsung unveiled the ATIV Q, a hybrid that can run both Android and Windows 8. On-stage, Executive Vice President DJ Lee said the "versatile and adaptable" device can switch between four positions: tablet, typing, stand and writing. The Q sports a 13.3-inch display with a 3,200 x 1,800 (qHD+) resolution (that works out to 275 ppi). Samsung says the panel is optimized for use in bright sunlight, and viewing angles are wide, at 178 degrees. There's also an S Pen on board to take advantage of that spacious screen, which Galaxy Note fans will certainly appreciate.

I agree, although I am much more looking forward to them rolling out higher resolution desktop displays, I want 4k at a reasonable price.

My favorite slide in the presentation

Anandtech did a hands-on with a few more pictures, worth a look. They also confirmed that Android runs as a VM ontop of Windows 8.

Although I would still prefer the ATIV Book 9 Plus because I would like a traditional keyboard with ample wrist rest space for typing.

Agreed, I would even take a 30" 3200X1800 for $1100-$1400, too bad we are stuck with 2560X1440/1600 for a few more years until 4K gets cheaper.

lol, I have a 1440p 27", and I think my biggest complaint is it isn't smaller with that resolution. That panel is just too big for my eyes to take in at like < 3' viewing distance.
