Don't worry about the supposed feature set. The rev. 3.0 970A-UD3 has lower-quality MOSFETs on the board that don't handle the heat of high overclocks on 8350s in the same way that the earlier versions do. I remember when I got mine, I was disappointed at first that Newegg had sent me a rev. 1.2, but now I'm glad they did, because it's the last one that has the better voltage regulation.
The 3.0 versions seem to be fine for the most part, but there have been reports of failures with heavily OC'd 83x0's, both on the 970A-UD3 and the 990FX rev. 3.0 version. The older UD3 models are bulletproof. Get the BIOS revision F8a if you don't have it already, although I think it matters more on a 1.2 than 1.0/1.1.
Come back and let us know how you do with the 8320 when it comes.
