GT540M getting 0% memory utilization intel gpu in nvidia won't work poor fps

Unreal Engine 3 isn't fully using my Nvidia GT540M, it doesn't use the video memory, I think the GT540M is using system memory because in Task Manager the game is using about 600MB, but when I go in game my system memory goes down by over 1GB, so there's some dynamic system memory being used.

I'm thinking it's a mix of driver issues possibly... I'm running the 320.18s windows 7 x64...

Maybe I'll use the driver that came with the laptop...

Even if I tell the nvidia control panel to force nvidia or intel it always uses the nvidia gpu core but not the gpu memory...

Any advice?

UE3 uses a form of texture streaming that keeps only textures within view in VRAM I beleive.

If your HDD is choking on getting those textures ready I would reckon that might be a part of the issue.

I'm reinstalling my intel and nvidia drivers with the manufacturer drivers and cleaning registry entries.

My hard drive is really good its 7200rpm 750gb, I have two of them.

On my other two computers I get solid memory utilization of no less than 90% and 800-1170MB of video memory use in game unreal engine 3.

I can't even force usage on the intel gpu it uses the gt540m gpu core and system memory rather than dedicated memory.

I'm thinking it's a driver issue...

Or possibly BIOS issue... Not sure.

I don't know why the game isn't using much video memory, but the memory performs like crap anyway...

Why is it using dynamic memory as well?
