6950 with a Quadro 4K

Thread Starter
I have a HIS 6950 IceQ turbo 2gb and I received a Quadro 4000 for free. Would it be worth while to run hybrid physX or replace one with the other?

For what do you want to use it for exactly. If 3d modeling and/or rendering than the quadro will most likely be superior as well as the ability to use CUDA enhanced apps. For gaming, the 6950 will be better. It might be pretty decent in Physx as my guess is it's performance would be that of a gtx 460 or so. Worst thing you can do is try it out and it isn't worth it.

I have a Corsiar 750w single rail PSU, do you think it would handle both cards with a 3770k OC'd to 4.7 Vcore 1.26?

What is the amperage on the rail? As long as its over 42A you should be fine in my opinion.

For games your 6950 is far superior. Talking about less than a GTX460 (256 FERMI cores on the 4000 with 256 bit RAM). It would be superior however at rendering (it's intended purpose) and CUDA apps (only when there is no AMD equivalent).
Physics, it could likely get by. Should perform better than a 450 (192 @128 bit) but worse than a 460 (336 @ 256 bit).
