Seasonic X Series 650 Gold or Seasonic SS-660 Platinum?

I want to upgrade my current power supply which is a Corsair TX750 V2. It works fine, except I dont use the extra cables and they barely fit in my Corsair C70 case.

Im looking at the Seasonic X Series 650 gold

Also the 660 platinum

The 660 platinum is overkill? Definably want a modular power supply.

650 watts should be enough for my i7 2700K, AMD 7870, 1 HDD, CPU air cooler, fan controller, and LED system ?
I dont overclock my GPU and OC my 2700K from time to time.

650w is enough for two 7870s and a 2700k with high overclocks.

Doesn't hurt to buy the 650w though as you might consider crossfire later on.

In this case, I'd go for the tried and true X-650. I hear a lot of issues of coil whine with the SS-660.

Do you plan on adding another card? If not, you could power your system on a 450w unit.

I dont like coil whine, so the 650 is getting even better with the exceptional reviews I read of it.

Probably not, but it's good to have room for expansion.
