Saberooth Z87 SATA Port Question

Thread Starter
I bought PC about 3 Weeks ago, and the only thing I know that's being holding PC back is my HDD's. I've been wanting to buy an SSD for a while, but I'm waiting for a good deal, or a price drop somewhere.

My Question is, is there a difference between the "Intel®Z87 Serial ATA 6.0 Gb/s connectors" and the "ASMedia®Serial ATA 6.0 Gb/s connectors"? Is one for SSD's?

I have the ASUS Sabertooth Z87 Motherboard and I have 4 HDD's, and 1 DVD Drive.
I have 3 open SATA ports open left 2 of which are the ASMedia because I'm not 100% sure if they are for something specific. Maybe a HDD with only media in it? I don't know.

The ASMedia ports are notably inferior to the native Intel ports in terms of speed and stability; you should only use them if you're completely out of the six Intel ports.

Were you to buy an SSD, I would strongly recommend plugging it into the one remaining Intel port.
