i have the xfi platinum... and it rocks.. with game there is a huge differecnce in sound ... i use both speakers and headphones...for speakers i use antec lancing 2.1 vs4221 and that is all i need ... sounds incredible... i don't understand the whole 5.1 since i can't get the speakers around behind me .. so i went with 2.1 and it throws the sound around me for surrond sound ... i don't even put them all the way up and it is surround, loud, clear , deep lows..clean , just nice man... with headphones i use silent confort by bose,,, and sound is amazing.

the xfi has definetly been an important part of my rig.... it just makes the whole experience of gaming that much more rewarding,,, eax is the best with it.

hope this helps

If you think about X-Fi Xtreme Gamer ordinary then Xtreme Music is better, only Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty got X-Ram and is better then Music, so if you're choosing between Music and Gamer ordinary choose Music.
ps: go to the Creative site and compare them all

Get the Gamer with the XRam I have the Fatal1ty Pro which has the XRam minus the drive bay. Difference is I got it for cheaper then a XtremeMusic.

If I understand correctly, you're saying that (for him) the X-Fi XtremeMusic will be better because the XtremeGamer is the same. That is incorrect, the XtremeMusic DOESN'T have X-RAM and the XtremeGamer DOES have X-RAM.

Making the XtremeGamer the better card to get.

The Bose TriPorts are awesome, imo. But not sure how they are for gaming.

I tried them on at the Apple store and they were great.
