Haswell is a great thing for Intel, and for various types of Mobile devices - its just not very exciting for us Desktop enthusiasts. A big chunk of the die on a Haswell chip is dedicated to its iGPU which Intel hope will increase its profits and I have no doubt it will. The sad thing for us is that there is little profit in the desktop market these days, even next years Broadwell platform has been put back to 2015 because there is no real benefit in short hardware cycles as far as business sense goes.
A little bird does tell me however Haswell-E (remember E is for enthusiast!!) may make an appearance next year and may be an Octo-core offering possibly with DD4 but dont quote me on that.
