Also this board has the same options in bios as the gamer and dedicated oc boards.

The auto-overclock function could only get it to 4.6Ghz at 1.35v with a Noctua NH-U12S on my 4770K. Which CPU cooler are you running?

Soz for the late reply. I am running a custom watercooled loop.

After a lot of stability testing I am now running 4.7 and using Vcore of 1.4V adaptive.

Temps are fine - AIDA64 stress tests can get as high as 90 but that is very rare and only as a short spike. In gaming and normal load temps rarely goes to 60+.

I have not done any fine tuning on the OC at all. Just the Asus optimisation app which gave me 4.8/4.9 on 2 cores but that wasn't stable at all. I just dialed it down to 4.7 and it's been rock solid since.

Did you have to update the BIOS for this board? I noticed on the ASUS support forums that there have been recent BIOS updates for many of their Z87 motherboards. They have absolutely no support (at least that I can find) for this motherboard anywhere on their forums or in their download areas.

I've got two of these on order to build a couple of high-end photo editing machines. I've built a bunch of PC's over the years using ASUS mobo's and always found it helpful to review the experiences of others before diving into the first build with a new mobo. It's a bit frustrating not being able to get that sort of support this time.

Do you use some of the localised asus sites? On the global page it has full support for this board: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87WS/#support_Download_30

I did update to bios 1008 - no massive change apart from the autotuning utility now stops pumping voltages into the cpu at 1.275v rather than the 1.4 it came up with on the release bios.

UEFI layout seems to have changed as well.

I updated as well. No dedicated support forum exists on Asus' VIP site so maybe should start an Owner's Club thread to share our experiences.

Another BIOS was released. Currently running 4.6 cpu and 4.3 cache at 1.375 and 1.2 adaptive. 4.7 was fine as well on 1.4 but dialed it down a bit to play with the cache speed.
