I think it's just more of a reputation thing, also as ssd tech is becoming cheaper companies are wanting to use cheaper parts to appeal to a larger market, as opposed to last generation ssds where there was only a relatively small market for ssds, and the enthusiasts would pay the higher price for premium parts

M4's are reliable. That's why people still recommend them even after this long. I have a hard time recommending OCZ for anything, even though my Vertex 2 180GB still works fine.

Plextor is a good brand, Sandisk probably isn't as well known but just as good I'm sure.

I'd go with the Plextor, it's new, 128 GBs, and price isn't so bad vs the other SSD's you listed.
