Heatpipe?

Thread Starter
I see a lot of posts recommending the BT and the Tuniq Tower, both of which use heatpipe. So far, I've had bad experience with heatpipe coolers.

Right now I'm waiting for the Thermaltake Polo 735 Rev 2. Which, I believe, is the same design as Thermaltake's Venus 12 for socket 754 processors, which was a cooler I was very happy with.

Currently I'm using the Thermaltake Beetle, which in my opinion, is a disaster. It uses the heatpipe system, and so far, I'm not too impressed with heatpipe coolers.

But I'm willing to keep an open mind to this field since you guys are the experienced overclockers. I think I just bought the wrong cooler. Prior to using this cooler, I was using the Cooler Master Hyper 48, which was considerably better than the Beetle.

You guys swear by the BT and the Tuniq Tower?

The Tuniq Tower is the absolute best but it's very hard to find these days. The heatpipe design is definitely more effective in most coolers. The thermaltake beetle is a bad example of a heatpipe cooler. Some other good coolers to look at are:

-Thermalright ultra 120
-Noctua's tower
-scythe ninja/infinity

air cooling would suck if there were no heatpipes. I would be using water a loooong time ago if it werent for titans such as the tuniq or infinity.

I think you say heat pipes are bad from the experience you had with the tt beetle, thats probably why you think theyre bad, I don't really think it's a good cooler but I'd say if you wanted the best air cooler, in my opinion I'd go with the tuniq tower because of all the good reviews, I havent heard any bad criticism from it and the cooling seems to be decent from what I could see.

The only problem with things like the SI-120, Tt BT and Tuniq are that they are HUGE.

The Beetle is the size of a cantaloup, I'm sure I will have room for these.
