Alright so since you mentioned it and I actually have this game
My performance on ULTIMATE, not just ultra but Ultimate highest settings at 1080P
average 35~45FPS GPU temp(surprised me to be honest) 69~74C
Highest possible settings playable and smooth on a 1080P laptop.
TRESSFX looks AWESOME
Quote:I cant say anything for other laptops manufacterors but the M17X R4 and M18X R2, and the new Alienware 17 and 18.
My "reference point" is personal experience. I don't need to check anything. Everything inside of a computer transfers heat to other components. This is especially true inside of a laptop, where everything is crammed into as small of a space as they can muster with limited cooling. Load the CPU and other components as well.
they have different chambers for their hardware. Their graphics cards are seperated by a plastic and (i forgot the name of the material)soft barrier and have triple heatpipes with direct copper contacts, it keeps the heat of the rest of the componants. The CPU die is a fair distance away from the GPU chamber and has its own isolated chamber (not as isolated as the gpu), that keeps the heat off of the rest of the laptop.
Go watch my build video if you'd like to see a more accurate picture of what im talking about.
Thermally the alienware laptops have very very well done chassis/case designs.
