Planning to upgrade!

Thread Starter
Currently running off a single Gtx 560 1GB, mobo is mini-itx so i can't go SLI. Problem is im running at 2560x1440p res, and can't get great frames without sacrificing quality and even still some games still have some to little delay on low-med.

I've read that this kind of resolution requires more Vram such as maybe 2GB on the gpu. I just want some suggestions on my next gpu and would like to stay nvidia. Also i am worried about possible bottle necking with getting a new card, my build should be view-able below. Thanks in advance wink.gif

Update: I was just looking at the Radeon HD 7970 GHz from what ive read is it does well with this res... its a lil pricey for me though and i prefer nvidia. if i were to get this card would my cpu bottle neck? Sorry i still don't understand how bottle necking comes into play in extreme detail.

Final update, i went out and did some research and this REVIEW i found just shut down my thoughts of nvidia at this res.

Direct quote from review on the 7970

"When it comes to overall performance as well we're a little all over the place. Deciding if this card is right to you when compared to the NVIDIA offerings is ultimately going to depend on the resolution you play at because no matter what game you play or what engine that game is using, it's clear that AMD does better at 2560 x 1600 when compared to NVIDIA.

As you move down the resolution table you see the balance in speed shift with the NVIDIA offerings take the lead. If you're gaming at 2560 x 1600 or 2560 x 1440 we'd find it easier to recommend the HD 7970 GHz Edition over the GTX 680. At the lower resolutions, though, you'd probably lean towards the NVIDIA offering."

Grab yourself a Radeon 7950, still a better price than GTX 670 or GTX 770
