Cas latency question.

Thread Starter
So I'm building a new rig, going with the 4770k and the sabertooth, got a lot of the parts i can salvage from my current computer. however, i wanna buy new ram, the one that really appeals to me is this: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10/dp/B006EWUO22/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371966024&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+vengeance+16gb (sorry for the long link) but basically the thing that saddens me is that this ram has cas latency of 10, i have seen many pc3 12800 speeds with a latency of 9, will this be a dramatic difference? also, ram suggestions welcome, trying to stay at $130 for 16gb.

no 9 to 10 Will not really be noticeable, might be able to O.C to it though with a volt increase

A 4770k can push memory in the 2600+ territory. 1600MHz cas9 or 10 is slow.

Fast ram will help overall snappiness of your system and help minimum FPS in games.

I'd look at getting this set of ram:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313325

$145, free shipping.

Absolutely agree. Get the fastest RAM with the lowest latency possible. It really does improve minimum frame rates and especiallyhelps wwithCPU bbound games.
