ya 955 is more than capable for the 6950 - do something about the vid card first, unless you absolutely need the processing grunt.

Are you trying to do a complete overhaul upgrade or just a sidegrade? If complete overhaul with a good budget, I'd say got Intel and grab the 3570k. If budget, look for a used 2500k and grab a cheap 1155 board. I think your GPU is more than capable of handling today's modern games.

Since your mobo is not AM3+ getting a FX6300 would require a new mobo. In that case i would recommend this deal for a used chip -http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Phenom-II-X6-1055T-2-8-GHz-Six-Core-Processor-/231001376111?pt=CPUs&hash=item35c8c1456f
and this deal for a new one -http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Phenom-II-X6-1055T-2-8-GHz-Six-Core-HDT55TWFK6DGR-Processor-/141000435947?pt=CPUs&hash=item20d447e8eb
Please consider.

Its cool, but yeah it did unlock but wasn't stable. Didn't past prime, but oh well, its based on luck and a dual core for a reason.thumb.gif
