[VRZ] Nvidia GTX 760 to be the last GeForce 700 series GPU for 2013 - Page 3

post #21 of 22
The IGPs aren't equal to a GTX 650, I know that. They're about a HD6670 (GDDR3 version) or GT 640 at best since those use GDDR3 and narrow memory bus with low bandwidth.

My point was however, there isn't a huge jump from IGP to those SKUs and people with discrete cards need a large incentive to upgrade. 10FPS or 20FPS is still rather unplayable: it doesn't matter what the FPS difference is when it's that low it's not worth it to buy the card. Some not demanding games that you may buy a GT 640 for and get sub 60FGPS (Click to show)

If you're buying a discrete GPU then it better be at least HD 7790 or GTX 650 Ti to actually have notable gains over previous generations.

The difference with buying a GPU is there's that mental jump for someone to actually buy one. With IGP, nobody buys it separately.

@moustache

Ah well maybe. I recall reading the Iris pro review and from what I remember the AMD APu and iris were trading wins back and forth. I guess it was Richland they used for it and not trinity then. Still, if what AMD is promising with Their next APU is true it won't really matter. Igpu 7790 performance anyone? biggrin.gif
