Custom mouse drivers that introduce Quake 3 style mouse acceleration?

I was hoping someone with knowledge about this could maybe shed some light on how complicated something like this would be.

I'm a low sensitivity gamer and I would use acceleration in every game, but the only acceleration that is comfortable is the Quake 3 acceleration. So would it be possible to create a custom driver for your mouse that adds acceleration in? Bst mentioned that he might attempt to add it into his Ninox Aurora, just wondering how hard it would be to make for existing mice.

Yeah, I've used XAI, and if I remember correctly the acceleration was threshold based like Windows acceleration.

How have I never heard of that before? That works perfectly and is exactly what I've been looking for.

Thank you Vikhr!
