geforce 790? - Page 2

I can see a couple off 770 gpus on one pcb with 8gb of vram, 4gb usable for a GTX 790 card.

Would be sweet if it was a couple 780 cores though.

I don't think so but I hope so

Nvidia so far released 1 Dual GPU every generation

1 in Fermi

1 in Kepler

1 in the previous generation than Fermi...

Unless I am missing something

Not necessarily every generation.

Here's what I remember
GTX 690, GTX 590, GTX 295, 9800 GX2, 7950 GX2

there are other cards like the 560 Ti 2win and the 460 2win, but AFAIK, they're not officially built by Nvidia. They're just from the third parties that wanted to spice up their line up a little bit. They're may be a few other odd balls in there created by other vendors.

What I meant was every generation of the chip actually.

690 is Kepler

590 is Fermi

295 is Tesla

Therefor I don't have any hope that we will see 790, but I would surely welcome it.

I don't think we'll see another till the 800 series, just my take on it.

Eventually? Sure.

This year? I doubt it.

Most likely nVidia is already sitting on a design for it, but since they already have the fastest single and double GPU card out there now, until AMD applies pressure on them, I don't see nVidia bothering with doing a 790.

Oh! hmm good observation. I'd be inclined to say "no" then since this 700 series is a refresh, but in no ways is a 780 a refresh from the 680 lol.

Titan and 780 is on a league of its own thats for sure. Nothing refresh about it. But at the end of the day they are still Kepler redface.gif

Edit : There used to be talks of Titan Ultra. Maybe it might be 790 that we want but named as Titan Ultra. And I am seriously guessing that there will be 2 underclocked 780 chips on that thing. Just a wild guess.
