Hello,

Recently I've been searching around for a good dual LGA2011 motherboard for use in a data crunching computer. Its required to both crunch and render countless gigabytes of scientific data.

The ASUS Z9PE-D8 was the first motherboard I looked into, as it seemed to be all over the internet whenever you search for this kind of board. It fit both the requirements for power and SLI/Crossfire ability for this build, but then upon reading the reviews, I found that it had compatability issues with higher-end graphics cards specifially the GTX600 line. There are also a disturbingly large amount of DoA reports and general errors in the Newegg reviews, leaving me to be very suspicious about if this board was reliable enough for crunching scientific data, or anything for that matter.

I haven't found any well-documented alternatives to this board, so I was wondering:

1) Does anyone have any reliable alternatives to this motherboard for a dual socket LGA 2011?

2) Or, has anyone made a successful build I can work off of which uses this motherboard?

3) Otherwise, does anyone have any ideas about the precautions we should take if we do have to use this board?

Thanks in advance.

I don't really know much about these mobos at all but I have heard that the evga sr-x is awful. Most sites that I looked said the ASUS was the best but I also found a few here all with good and bad reviews.
