That is also my worry. And I also find the excuses to be lame.

Pretty much tons of trustable technology sites and this Nvidia employee told us that we would get it on June 25th, and on July 31st, Nvidia is denying that June 25 was a release date. They could have said that way before, since they did not, this kinda puts a dent on their credibility.

I would be very happy if August 1st release date is true, if not, 2014 is my guess.

I had written an open letter to Nvidia on their forums as I mentioned before.

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/569995/the-geforce-lounge/open-letter-to-nvidia/

And ManuelG from Nvidia had the following response in the hopes that communication between Nvidia and customers will be better in the future.

I am in Software QA and so I don't make these decision but I will pass a long your feedback to management. I am deeply sorry for the lack of communication in certain areas. I know it was disappointing to customers who had pre-ordered SHIELD to find out a few days before it was to be released that it would be delayed but we felt it was better to fix the component now rather than provide the user with a bad experience once they received it. As for ShadowPlay, in hindsight it may have been better to delay announcing it until we were closer to completing it. The June 25th date that was mentioned was an error and we did not intend to disclose this date to the public. Right now, NVIDIA as a whole is trying to listen more to end users feedback and requests in all areas of our company from software planning to hardware design, marketing, sales...everyone asks me for feedback from end users. Thank you for taking the time to write your lengthy and constructive feedback. While I always appreciate nice comments from customers, as a company we learn more from users who let us know which areas we have room for improvement.

I pretty disappointed about this. They mentioned the 25th and a month later they say its an error, frustrating. Im really excited for it and im glad you iARDAs wrote that letter to them. Where did you hear August 1st from and what makes you think its going to be in 2014?

I really can't wrap my head around the sense of entitlement most people in this thread seem to have.
It's a free (upcoming!) feature in a free software they include in their drivers for your convenience.
Release dates for software are theirs to set and/or change and/or postpone, it's not like you paid a lot of money for a pre-order, so stop acting like Nvidia has greatly wronged you. Never did it say on the box that your GPU would come with Shadowplay. At most, it said it would come with GE, of which Shadowplay is an upcoming feature. That got delayed.

I get it, it's unfortunate, but that's the reality of trying to push out software sometimes. I'm 100% sure you wouldn't want to have the software in it's current state, since Nvidia obviously don't deem it ready for release yet.

Please, just take a breather for a second, and think about how silly these demands you are making really are.

August 1 is a gossip over in internet but it seems to be invalid so far.

And 2014 is just a guess :)

I truly hope we can have shadowplay soon.

Nope

Demands are not silly. Even Nvidia rep officialy gave me the response above telling me that they had a piss poor job on communication.

It doesn't matter if the feature is free. A free feature can be critisized as well. Here most of us are critisizing the lack of communication and action from Nvidia about Shadowplay, and ManuelG from Nvidia admitted that they handled it wrongly.

Nvidia admits it, their main rep in the official forums told me directly how they handled some stuff poorly about 2 hours ago and you still say its a silly demand?

Also please do not forget that some people just bought a Kepler GPU over their preferred ATI GPU just because they believed Shadowplay would have released in June 25th.

I think they're just telling you what you want to hear since all they see is your constant bickering. I mean they might as well keep quiet like valve and just release it when it's ready then maybe you people with entitlement issues would stop complaining.
