hmmm this is really interesting... All of these uploads are being done through shadowplay? I had no idea you could change any settings beyond 'Low, Medium or High'... :/

They're editing the videos afterwards, or re-encoding them.

Because of shadowplay's bitrate control, "high" can correspond to ~11mbits or ~55mbits from what i've seen, depending on the game/scene/etc, and youtube treats videos differently depending on bitrate etc so it's a bit tricky

I did loads of tests, couldn't see a difference. Even at 'original'quality.
Above 14mbit is recommended I think.

is there a guide anywhere to get started with this? I personally haven't been thrilled with the 'High' quality setting shadowplay produces...

If you're not happy with the source quality, there's not much you can do. Shadowplay's goal isn't to show lossless video, it is to provide reasonable video with minimal performance issues (as software solutions are significantly worse for performance)

You can't improve the source quality, you can only try to get close to it on youtube. There's always some encoding artifacts with h264 which are noticable compared to a lossless source, unless you use obscene bitrates

makes sense, yeah the only software solution I found which offered comparable performance to shadowplay was Mirillis Action.

cool cool. I guess ill make do with what's on offer, since I don't currently have the storage space (or write speeds) to capture lossless.

I've never seen good results in software, nothing touching shadowplay which has no notable effect on frametimes and no performance hit when you're CPU bound in some games biggrin.gif

I rendered at 59 because even though YT drops it down to 30, I still think it looks smoother for some reason. I normally render at around 40 just so I don't get lost frames.

Could just be a placebo...

Mirillis Action came close, for sure. It was certainly nothing like fraps etc.

Yep, it's set as default.
