Reason being is because you're loading the whole video - but then compressing it.
Thus if you load a 4k - 5GB video vs a 1080P 500mb video - the 1080p one loads faster - that's my perception of it.

Youtube converts the video once for each quality setting, then stores that converted file. It never loads your original afterwords, and they probably don't even store that huge file. The storage space for that is tons cheaper then processing the video on the fly each time would be.

No Idea really - just how I've noticed it really. Even on my own videos.

If someone is WATCHING YOUR VIDEO - a video UPLOADED at 4k will take longer to load than a 1080P one. No matter what detail; they select (say it is 480p or 720p)

I do not experience that effect checking my personal youtube videos from work (some are older and fairly low quality).

Same, I experience no difference in load times.

Correct although they do store the original file for future transcoding should your file be at a higher resolution than what YouTube currently offers.

Shadowplay seems to be very versatile. I'm testing it tonight, but damn it's a good tool so far.

I miss using Shadowplay, the sli issue is just too huge.

Is there a guide to using OBS correctly? PM me if you can to keep the thread on topic.

Streaming with shadowplay isn't the best idea unless it has been fixed that if you alt-tab the stream goes down. There is no disadvantage to using OBS for streaming only advantages now that it utilises NVENC (Same as shadowplay)
