that's actually really surprising. I fully expected NV to be on the ball with features like this. No PTT feature simply means I don't ever transmit my mic whilst recording or streaming. :/

To be completely honest (and sorry if this is not really welcome in Shadowplay thread) - while NVENC is very useful for streaming, i think OBS is definately more on point with using it for delivering some important things like this (i think they have ptt) as well as independent bitrate, resolution and fps controls (which, while useful for offline recording.. is mandatory in this day and age for streaming i'd say)

yep, i've heard OBS is much more dynamic and robust too. I just liked the idea of simplifying the amount of stuff running on my PC at any one time. I don't really enjoy jumping through multiple hoops in order to have a fully feature-packed gaming experience.

You can easily emulate that behaviour by making an AutoHotKey script. It's a really powerful utility. Give it a try: http://ahkscript.org/

It should work just fine. I did this for a Skype recording session. You could either have it On then push to Off, or Off and push to On.
Initial setup was hilarious getting sound check finalized. You just have to remember when you pressed your hot key, or not tongue.gif

The only issue is the time for the Mic to be on or Off. Skype it was very fast so it was a non issue.

Skype has built in PTT like teamspeak/vent, you just have to set up hotkey in a certain way (IIRC..)

Now it does, it didn't at the time. This was a while ago.

This is kinda OT, but do you guys who stream to twitch have any recommendations for finding an accurate measure of my upload rate? I ask because the upload rate i can produce from Aus -> LA doing a speedtest on speedtest.net is SIGNIFICANTLY higher (we're talking multiples here) than what I appear to actually be capable of sending to the twitch servers.

I can pull over 15mbit upload from Aus to LA on speedtest.net, yet I still have trouble holding sustained rates to twitch itself using Shadowplay's "medium" stream settings (which I can only guess are asking for <15mbit upload rates).

Also, I find Xsplit's test to be a bit of a joke, and I'm not really interested in reinstalling Xsplit for that purpose

I don't remember the Xsplit test working badly but you have to set up settings in a specific way, not just hit test
