For 4K I think you might need to RAID some SSD's to achieve 60fps recording rate.

I know near lossless for 1080p can be ~150BM/s in required sequential write speed for 60 fps.

Even Shadowplay's live h264 encoder which is maybe not as good as cpu encoding with something like x264 can get a good result with like 2% of lossless bitrate - I don't think i'll really use fraps for anything unless lossless is a requirement

Ya FRAPS for near lossless thumb.gif ...or DXtory.
When you want to do editing with high quality.

Shadowplay is nice for YouTube. Which is what it is aimed at.

I don't see why people would use fraps or DXtory any more.
Utterly pointless - Unless you want to show your eager/looking for flaws in bitrate "friends"
I haven't touched fraps ever since shadowplay hit.

We are not announcing anything yet with regards to NVIDIA GRID other than we are BETA testing with select SHIELD customers.

Is there any status/plans for nvidia surround support for shadowplay?

I know surround setups are not simple, and I wouldn't be surpised if there wasn't any support planned. But I would be 100% ok with an implementation where shadowplay simply records the center screen only. Is this possible within the workings of how SLi and nvidia surround works?

I love my nvidia surround setup, but the lack of Shadowplay has me considering a single screen again

It is not on the near future roadmap since it makes it hard to share with friends/Youtube.

I see! Please don't make it shield exclusive.

I know surround and High Res Gaming are different things but still, many people are greatly happy that they did the switch.

On a side note, been using a 29" 2560x1080 LCD monitor for times when I want super wide screen gaming. Has pretty low input lag and playing FPS or racing games is awesome on it.

After using Shadowplay I puke.gif every time someone suggests I use Dxtory/Fraps. Sure the quality may be better, but I'm really not trying to do all that just to capture a random moment.

I was surprised how well GRID worked for me being that I'm on the East Coast, far away from the North Cal area which I initially read was required. The fighting games aren't too playable though due to the slight input lag, no chance in performing any 1 or even 2 frame links. Darksiders was great though thumb.gif

Can't locate this. Thanks in advance for answer.

I've filed a request for this so hopefully it will come in a future update to GFE.
