Mark my words when the PS4 starts using 3GB for every single game on video alone this card will start being utilized more. It really is pretty stupid advice to tell people 2GB is all you need. They pretty much are wasting 400 dollars on a card that will be hamstrung for the rest of its life after 2013. At least imo. And of course we are not talking it is going to die or anything no hyperbole. Small problems here and there for sure though. And why would you want those problems for only 50 dollars more you can solve them for good.
Better resale value on these 4GB cards as well. This whole mythology of a 256 bit bus not using more than 2GB NEEDS TO DIE HERE AND NOW and die hard!
it's not the 256-bus that is the problem.
it the actual grunt or power of the GPU itself running out before all 4GB of VRAM is utilized.
670/680 and now 770.
so it's the actual design of the card or architecture, not the bus.
a wider bus would be more beneficial yes, but it's not the issue.
