GTX 770 or PS4 ? - Page 4

eBay. With the release of the 760 to 780, the prices have dropped quite a bit. Got a 680 FTW at half price with an aftermarket cooler.

To all of the idiots saying you will need to upgrade the gtx 770 in couple of years , it's not true and can last as much as a consol. You don't see Sony upgrading the graphics on their console each year, they just tweak the graphics by lowering the resolution to keep up with the new games which you can do same thing on a PC. PC gets a chance of getting a consol emulator which is a plus

Get a PS4 and sell it for a profit on the release date with that you can buy a Graphics card and Monitor. I myself reserved the PS4 just to resale to the sheep that line up on release day. When the PS3 was first released a group of 7 friends and myself all bought PS3's and resold them for $1300 a piece (cash) 8 hours after buying it. With the profit i waited 4 months and i bought one when the craze went down.

I guess it just really depends what your into, and how much you value PC graphics or the experience that each platform brings. The 770 may be replaced, but it will still be very useful for quite some time I would imagine. Plus controllers are a pain for me, but maybe you like them, not sure.

but as to the steam sales, both systems have great deal depending on how old the game is, and there will be a lot more used ps4 games in the stores than with the PC.

Im a PC fanboy, but I still think if those are the two options you are SET on, then a PS4 is a no brainer. Look at PS3, great games for, what, 7 full years? You already have a 560ti too? Really an obvious choice for a PS4. You can upgrade your card in a year to a 770 equivalent for half the price as you could right now. But PS4 price wont drop like that.

I just bought a 770 for $350 new on eBay for my first ever build. I own or have owned every console since the NES. I would upgrade your monitor and card and wait till 2014 to buy the PS4. I have an XBox One on preorder and will get the PS4 next year. The exclusives for each console look pretty good for the most part, but I don't really see a need to rush to get one at launch. That said, I'm deeply entrenched with multiplayer on XBLive and I know if I don't have next-gen this Christmas, I'll be kicking myself in the ass.

It depends.. If it was me I'd get the 770, but only bc I play PC wayyyyyyyyyyy more than I do console. But if you think you'd actually avidly play a PS4, get that. smile.gif
